When ICE and AutoCAD are linked, the ICEcad ribbon appears on the AutoCAD toolbar. You can use the ICEcad ribbon to access ICE functions from within ICEcad. When you use an ICE function in ICEcad, your changes simultaneously update in ICE and AutoCAD.

Ice Palette opens the ICE Product Palette in ICEcad. In ICEcad, the ICE Product Palette is called the ICEcad Product Palette and has the same folder structure as in ICE. Once you open the ICE Product Palette within ICEcad, you can draw and stamp items from ICE and installed catalogs in ICEcad. Since ICE and ICEcad are synchronized, whatever you draw automatically appears in in both applications. This example image shows the ICE Product Palette open in ICEcad: |
Properties opens the ICE Properties and Finishes Editor from ICEcad. When you click the Properties icon in ICEcad, the Properties and Finishes Editor opens in ICE 2D plan view. You can update properties and finishes in ICE. Or you can drag the Properties Editor into the ICEcad window. Then, you can change properties and finishes from within ICEcad, Whether the Properties and Finishes Editor is in ICE or ICEcad, any changes that you make simultaneously update in ICE and ICEcad.

When you click Open 3D, ICE 3D opens. You can move the 3D window and position it beside ICEcad so that you can see changes you make in ICEcad automatically update in ICE 3D. This example image shows the same layout in ICE3D and ICEcad:

iLines to Front brings the i-Lines to the front of the drawing. When the i-Line is at the front of the drawing, it appears on top of all of the other layers in ICEcad.
In these example images, the i-Line is a red line that runs horizontally across the wall segment. In the first image, the i-Line already appears on the front of the drawing, and the i-Lines to Front function does not impact the drawing.
In the second image, the i-Line appears at the back of the drawing. You can see the i-Line start point on the left side of the drawing, but you do not see the i-Line as it runs along the wall segment:

On the ICEcad ribbon, you can use the View Manufacturer Quote icon to open the manufacturer quotes for catalogs that are installed in ICE. If only one quote is available, the View Manufacturer Quote icon displays the name of that quote beside the icon. If more than one quote is available, you can use the arrow icon to choose the manufacturer quote that you want to open.

On the ICEcad ribbon, you can use the Insert Elevation icon to insert an elevations in ICEcad. When you insert an elevation in ICEcad, it simultaneously appears in ICE 2D plan view. This example image shows an elevation in ICE 2D plan view and ICEcad:

On the ICEcad ribbon, you can use the Toggle Warning On/Off icon to turn notification processing on and off for Action Required Notifications. When you turn off notification processing, Action Required Notifications disappear from ICEcad and ICE 2D plan view, and ICE stops processing these notifications, speeding up your ICE file. In ICE, the standard setting for Action Required is on. However, if you turn off processing for Action Required Notifications in ICE 2D plan view or Review Board, notifications also disappear from ICEcad. Once you turn notification processing off, you can use the Toggle Warning On/Off icon to turn it back on.

On the ICEcad ribbon, you can use the Show Warnings icon to open the Notification Details dialog box from within ICEcad. Notification Details displays additional information about selected Action Required Notifications and FYI Notifications. For each notification, Notification Details displays the notification ID (the unique notification number) and information about the notification, You can click the Help button to load ICE Software Help in your internet browser to read more about the notification, including tips for resolving it.
When you select a notification icon in ICEcad, and click Show Warnings, Notification Details opens in ICE. If you want to view the Notification Details in ICEcad, click and drag it into the ICEcad window. This example image shows Notification Details in ICEcad.
