Export an Engineering Change Library:
To export an EC Library for use in other ICE files, follow the steps below:
1.Click Edit from the menu in 2D plan view.
2.Select Engineering Change Library from the list of menu options.
3.The Engineering Change Library dialog window will appear.
4.Click the Menu button in the top-right corner of the window.
5.Select Export Library... from the list of menu options that appears.
6.Choose a location on your computer to save your EC Library.
7.Click Save to finish the export or Cancel to stop the export process.
Export Selected Tags of an Engineering Change Library:
To export selected tags from an EC Library for use in other ICE files, follow the steps below:
1.Click Edit from the menu in 2D plan view.
2.Select Engineering Change Library from the list of menu options.
3.The Engineering Change Library dialog window will appear.
4.Click the first tag you want to export, then hold Shift while scrolling to the last tag to export. Any tags that are situated between the first and last tag selections will be included in the library export.
a.Alternatively, hold Ctrl to select specific EC tags for export.
5.Click the Menu button in the top-right corner of the window.
6.Select Export Selected... from the list of menu options that appears.
7.Choose a location on your computer to save your EC Library.
8.Click Save to finish the export or Cancel to stop the export process.
Import an Engineering Change Library:
To import an EC Library to use in your ICE file, follow the steps below:
1.Click Edit from the menu in ICE 2D.
2.Select Engineering Change Library from the list of menu options.
3.The Engineering Change Library dialog window will appear.
4.Click the Menu button from the top-right corner of the window.
5.Select Import Library... from the list of menu options that appears.
6.Navigate to the location on your computer where the EC library is saved.
7.Select the EC Library file from the file explorer window.
8.Click Import to complete the import or Cancel to abandon the process.
Resolve Duplicate Tags When Importing an Engineering Change Library:
When importing an Engineering Change Library into an ICE file, there may be instances where the Eng. Change tag name has already been created in the ICE file the library will be imported into (e.g. DWL 01 already exists, but the imported library also contains DWL 01). Follow the steps below to resolve this:
1.Items with the same name that already exist in the EC library will prompt the Merge Engineering Change Library dialog window to appear.
2.Choose one of three import actions below. The Merge Engineering Change Library will allow you to see the difference between the current library item and the imported library item.
a.Import and replace library item: The library item being imported will replace the one currently in the library.
b.Import and keep both library items: The library item being imported will be renamed and the existing library item will be unaffected.
c.Do not import library items: The library item being imported no longer be imported and the existing library item will be unaffected.
3.Select the Apply to all check box to apply the same action to all items that have a conflict with an imported library item. If the check box is not selected, you will need to select one of the three import actions for each of the items in question.
