When you ICE and AutoCAD are linked, you can use AutoCAD features and functions to add details to your Shop Drawing, including dimensions, notes, and details. Additionally, you can work in AutoCAD paperspace layouts to finalize your Shop Drawing, using and creating viewports, adding sheets, and adding information to the drawing title block.
If you are working on a large or complex project that requires substantial AutoCAD work, you can unlink ICE and AutoCAD. Once you unlink ICE and AutOCAD, you can work in the standalone AutoCAD application. For more information about breaking the link between ICE and AutoCAD, see Linking and Unlinking ICE and AutoCAD.
