What is the Design Editor app? As of August 6, 2024, most people will see one ICE app available called Design Editor. Design Editor is what we are calling the app you know of as ICE. We’ve made this name change to prepare for a future where ICE software is a suite of several descriptively named apps that help you design and build better and faster. To be clear, at this time the only thing that has changed is the name, it’s functionality and purpose remains the same.
Once installed, you ICE apps will live in ICE Manager. To open an app:
1.Open ICE Manager.
2.Click the app anywhere in the blue highlighted area.
Any apps you have downloaded will automatically update themselves and will notify you when they are ready for you to open. You can also manually check for an update by clicking the three dots next to an app and selecting Check for Update.
By default, ICE Manager will keep the latest version, plus the previous version. This is so that while you work, a newer version downloads in the background and when it’s ready, you can switch over, minimizing disruptions to your day.
When an app is updated, the oldest version will be automatically uninstalled. For example, if you have Design Editor (August) and Design Editor (September) installed and ICE Manager auto-downloads the October release, the August version will be uninstalled from your machine. If you want to keep more than the default two versions of an app, see the next section.
Keeping more than two versions of an app at a time

2.Under the desired app, use the drop down to change how many versions you keep simultaneously.
The minimum number is 2 (as explained above) and the maximum is 10.
3.Click Save.
If there’s a rare situation where you need an older version of an app that is unavailable in ICE Manager, contact info@ice-edge.com for assistance.
You can easily uninstall an app by clicking the three dots and selecting Uninstall.
To uninstall ICE Manager itself, use your computer’s uninstall app function. Please note that without ICE Manager, you won’t be able to use any ICE apps.
1.Search for ICE Manager.
2.Right-click the app and select Uninstall. Follow the prompts.
3.Some computers might open another window after this step, in which case scroll through the list to find ICE Manager and right-click to uninstall.
